Concentric circle necklace
In 2008, I had a sabbatical from my job as an operating theatre nurse, and headed off in a different direction. I embarked on a two year full time course at The Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design, at London Metropolitan University, to study jewellery and silversmithing.
I graduated in 2010, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the British Jewellers Association, for my graduation piece, an anticlastic silver necklace.
I work in silver, and all my work is handmade, using a variety of traditional techniques. These include, photo etching, doming, press forming, rolling mill texturing and Keum Boo, the ancient Korean technique of fusing gold leaf to silver. I often produce one off pieces, but as my work is handmade, no two pieces will be exactly the same.
